During the scan, you can take photos with your mobile device. The photos are stored in the DXF file as image references and also in the TXT file, where they can be viewed in the Editor. In the Editor software, moving the mouse over an image thumbnail enlarges the image.
Photos can be taken in three different ways:
- During Scanning.
From the real time drawing window you can tap the photo icon and a new window will open.

iOS users can take a photo using the system’s built-in camera app. The camera opens, the user takes the picture, and then taps Use Photo to confirm it.
Android users can do it from the application.

When you tap the photo icon a new picture is added at the last scanned point. While scanning you can follow the laser and adding pictures in your drawing.
2. At Marker points.

When adding a Marker point, you can include Notes or convert them into Stickers. This option is available in the Combo Scan screen.
You can now also attach a photo—just tap the photo icon. The photo feature works independently from adding notes or converting to a sticker.
If you take multiple photos, only the most recent one will be attached at this stage.

3. At Notes
Tap anywhere in the drawing and then the Notes Button.
You can then add a note at that point. Now the notes can include photos.
You can repeat the process without exiting, allowing you to add multiple photos around the drawing. Tap at different locations in the drawing and add photos.

Remarks
The photos are stored in each project folder. When you send the file all the photos will be sent in the zip. They must always be at the same folder with TXT and DXF file in order the CAD software to recognize them.
This is an example of how you see the photos in 2Dscanner Editor software.

And when you hover the mouse over the image, it enlarges.

And this is an example of how AutoCAD reads the DXF file. If you open multiple files that contain photos, older versions of AutoCAD may become confused and treat the file as locked, which can cause the photos not to appear.
