Filtering measurements is one of the most powerful functions of 2Dscanner that you will not find in other similar products.
This function allows for targeted and calibrated filtering of measurements, excluding in one go everything that can be considered unreliable or irrelevant to the survey itself.

Ignore Long Shots

By selecting this checkbox and assigning an appropriate limit value in the “Limit” window, it will be possible to instantly exclude from the scan all those points that were accidentally measured far from the area of interest (for example, outside a window). These points will be removed from the graphical window and any DXF export, but they will not be deleted from the original TXT measurement file, so there will be no permanent data loss, and they can still be used later if needed.

Ignore Low Signal

Unlike other similar tools, 2Dscanner transparently provides the user with data regarding the quality of the signal used to acquire each individual point. Therefore, it is possible to define the uncertainty of each point and also visualize it as described in the Views section.
Based on this, it is possible to apply calibrated filtering that will exclude all points with uncertainties greater than a specified value assigned in the “Limit” window in one go. The lower this value, the more reliable the retained points will be, and the more points will be discarded. Generally, values between 300 and 500 will ensure a survey composed of very reliable points. The discarded points will be removed from the graphical window and any DXF export, but they will not be deleted from the original TXT measurement file, so there will be no permanent data loss, and they can still be used later if needed.

The values set in these windows will be saved in the app’s settings and remembered for future uses until modified by the user.
