Settings Menu

104 views 0

The Settings Menu has 6 options.

Save Settings

Save application settings. This will save the settings under a different name for later use. The last used settings are always saved and loaded automatically.

Load Settings

Load application settings.

Language

Allows you to change the language. There are: English, French, Italian, German and Greek.
When changing the language, the app restarts and the data present will be lost. When started for the first time, the app recognizes the language of the system in use and automatically sets the correct language

Units

Here you can set the unit of measurement used for the project (mm, cm, m, inch). The values of the various settings will be automatically converted when changing the unit of measurement.

DXF Settings

The DXF file follows a specific structure. Each element is placed on a separate layer, as explained in this section, and every scan is stored in its own block.

Block names follow the format SCAN _ number _ time opened in the editor.
This naming method helps prevent conflicts when combining multiple DXF files into a single drawing.

With the DXF Settings dialog you can adjust a few parameters of the DXF.

  • Use ByBlock color for Traced Lines
    • The traced lines element appears in red, but this color is inherited from the block itself.
This approach allows you to change the color of each scan for better visibility and distinction — without needing to explode the block.
  • Use ByBlock Color for Points
    • The lines connecting the scanned points are blue by default. If you enable this option, they will inherit the color of the block instead. When both the points and the lines inherit the block color, they will appear in red. Otherwise, the points remain blue and the traced lines stay red.
  • Do not Export Signal even if visible
    • If you don’t need the yellow Signal circles then this is the way to avoid it always. Even if it is visible in Editor. If it is hidden it will not export anyway.
  • Default Units for DXF Export
    • Even if you use a specific unit in the Editor, you can choose a predefined unit for DXF export.

Open Settings Folder

Opens the folder that the Settings file is stored in Windows Explorer. Useful if you wish to retrieve Undo files that are saved in the same folder and it is in
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\2dscanner\

NOTE: All Editor settings are always saved and kept in memory, so when the app is opened or a new file is opened, the settings do not change. However, the above-mentioned functions allow you to store specific settings if the user needs to reuse them after making changes.
