Using this option you can use a point that is part of a straight line, wall and combine the next scan. The procedure is as follows.
- After you finish the first scan, Tap Next Scan.
- Rotate 2dscanner from the application to the point you are going to use. It has to be in the left start of a wall. Tap Get Distance. Wait for the App to verify that this point belongs to a traced line. If you see a message indicating that this point does not belong to a line then you need to scan more points. Also there might be an obstacle cutting the line. Only after the app verifies that the point belongs to a line put the sticker at the laser spot and move to the step 3.
- A message will prompt you to move 2dscanner to new position. After that move 2dscanner to new position.
- Aim the point (sticker) from the new position. You can move it either from the app or manually by hand but without loosing steps. The stepper is on during this process. You can rotate the tripod by hand, 2dscanner from the app, but not 2Dscanner with your hands. If you rotate 2dscanner by hand, by mistake, you can still continue but the accuracy will be lower.
- Once you aim the sticker, tap Get Distance.
- 2dscanner will start scanning the new line to it’s full length for better precision.
- Once the line is detected you can continue with your new scan. A message will appear saying that the scans are combined.
- From this point after, you see in the Live Drawing window all scans.
- This process can be repeated as many times as you need.
Tip: Choose walls that are perpendicular to laser beam from both positions. You will get better results.
In the following picture, 2dscanner is moved from 1 to 2. The best point to use for combining is B. A and C can be used but B will give better results. No need to worry a lot. An algorithm of optimizing combination is already being developed and the scans will be merged without double points soon.
At any time, it is possible to cancel the procedure, but not after moving the 2D scanner.
